Oscar P. Cohen is the former chief administrator of the Lexington School for the Deaf and Lexington Center for the Deaf in New York City where he held a number of positions over the years. Dr. Cohen is also a past president of the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Program for the Deaf (CEASD), and Programs Serving the Deaf and was chairman of the New York State 4201 Schools Association, the ten state-supported schools for deaf, blind, and physically disabled children. The son of deaf parents, Dr. Cohen is credited with many publications on the education of deaf and hard of hearing students and is especially known for his sensitivity to and support of deaf and hard of hearing children who have backgrounds that are linguistically, racially, and ethnically diverse. He continues to serve the Deaf and ethnically diverse communities in a variety of ways.

Judith L. Mounty is a research scientist in the College of Arts and Sciences at Gallaudet University.
